Sydni & Shannan
I am 28 years old, a single mother with a 20 month old daughter, Sydni. We live
in Pittsburgh, PA where I work for a software company. We have two cats: Figaro &
Shakkai, and a constantly increasing population of guppies. I spend almost all of my free
time doing things with my daughter. We read, garden, draw and paint, go to the museums, or
down to the coffee house (where she happily drinks milk!). I love my job and playing
around with computers (especially Unix).
The first OSC book I read was _Lost Boys_ and it has been a favorite ever since. I read a
lot of SF&F, especially by female writers such as Marion Zimmer Bradley, Anne
McCaffrey, and Ursula K. LeGuin. I also like historical novels and am currently reading
_Sarum_ and it is proving to be as good as people said it was. (If you have any interest
at all in English history, I recommend reading it if you haven't already done so.) I
can't wait until Sydni is old enough to read Ender's Game!
My favorite flowers are violets, my favorite color is purple. I went to an all girls
college here in Pittsburgh (Chatham College) and had a double major in Mathematics &
Philosophy, but took enough English credits to qualify for a minor in English as well. My
special interests are Philosophy of Science, Artificial Intellegence, and Theoretical
Physics.
If there were one other place in the world I would live, it would be London, which I
believe is the greatest city on Earth.
